CM Punk has spoken out about a potential CM Punk vs Hook match in AEW, proclaiming that “CM Punk fears HOOK”.
The former WWE Champion is set to take on Adam Page in the main event of AEW Double or Nothing 2022. CM Punk vs Adam Page could signal the end of Page’s AEW Championship reign, as the AEW World Championship will be on the line in the blockbuster bout in Las Vegas.
CM Punk has faced many young talents in AEW since returning to wrestling in August 2021. In his return promo in Chicago, CM Punk declared his intention to wrestle AEW’s up-and-coming wrestlers, starting with one of the Four Pillars of AEW, Darby Allin.
However, there is one person that CM Punk has yet to cross paths with.
Hook.

CM Punk has feuded with some incredible talents in AEW, like MJF, Eddie Kingston and Darby Allin, and he is set to face Adam Page at Double or Nothing later this month. However, one wrestler who he has yet to have any interaction with is the son of former ECW Champion Tazz, the one they call Hook.
When questioned about CM Punk vs Hook in an interview with Abe Kanan, CM Punk said “CM Punk fears HOOK.’ Yeah. I do. 100%”, joking that he was terrified to step into the ring with the young star.
“There are so many dudes. How about HOOK? That kid, for the first time, somebody is making memes saying ‘so and so fears HOOK, CM Punk fears HOOK.’ Yeah. I do. 100%. I’m 43 years old, he’s like 16. I don’t want to get in trouble. You hurt a teenager, you go to jail for that sort of thing.”
He also spoke about a number of big money dream matches that he still has left to have in AEW and which matches he personally is looking forward to in All Elite Wrestling.
“If you look at, Cody, he’s a big one. I’d really like to mess with Cody and his fans. Mr. ‘I don’t want to be a bad guy,’ I’ll tell you what you’re going to be. “
“Young Bucks, I’m always backstage pitching ideas for me and a tag partner against the Young Bucks. I really want to tag with Bryan Danielson. I’ll fight him too. How about Jon Moxley? I’ve never wrestled Jon Moxley. I’ve wrestled Dean Ambrose.”
“Would love [to wrestle Kenny Omega]. I don’t know what’s going on with Kenny, though. I read what everybody else has and I hear things about surgery and whatnot, but I don’t know how positive or true that is, I just know he’s banged up and I’m glad he’s taking some time off. When CM Punk does wrestle Kenny Omega, I want him to be 100%. “
While CM Punk vs Hook could be a while away, who knows what will happen when these two titans of their industry face off with each other in a main event match for the AEW Championship?
