Both CM Punk and Adam Page picked up huge wins at AEW Revolution 2022. CM Punk finally put away MJF in a brutal dog collar match, that saw future TNT Champion Wardlow turn on MJF and help Punk taste victory over his rival.
Meanwhile, Adam Page retained his championship gold as he put away former Bullet Club teammate Adam Cole in the main event AEW Championship match. It extends his championship run and adds a further title defence to his already impressive run as the AEW Champion.
MJF handed CM Punk his first loss in AEW during their match in Chicago this February, but Punk avenged the loss with a bloody victory at Revolution to even the score. Punk now sits at 5-1 in singles matches in 2022 with wins over Lee Moriarty, Shawn Spears, Wardlow and Dax Harwood complimenting the MJF win.
Punk does not currently rank on the AEW rankings, but with him gesturing wearing the AEW Championship belt after AEW Revolution 2022, it is likely that CM Punk will make it his mission to climb the rankings and make his way to AEW Double or Nothing 2022 to book CM Punk vs Adam Page for the AEW Championship.

The dream match between CM Punk and Adam Page has been one that has been wanted by AEW fans since Punk’s return to wrestling in August 2021.
The Straight-Edge Superstar has had some huge, high profile matches in AEW since his return. He has faced stars like Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston and MJF to name but a few, but few come close to facing Adam Page for the AEW Championship.
CM Punk vs Adam Page would be a first time match that fans would love to see. Hangman was known for his drinking issues in the early years of AEW, but he overcame them to finally defeat Kenny Omega to become the AEW Champion.
CM Punk is slowly climbing the AEW Rankings, since his win over MJF at AEW Revolution. He is not currently in the top 5 for 2022, owing to the huge defeat to MJF on an episode of AEW Dynamite, but with a recent win over Dax Harwood on AEW Dynamite, looks set to aim for an AEW Championship match down the line.
After his win over MJF, CM Punk signalled to around his waist – the universal wrestling signal for “I want your championship belt”. He did the same after beating Harwood, this time going to so far as to mimic tying a noose around his neck – a clear reference to “Hangman” Adam Page.
Where this match is set to take place is currently unknown. AEW Battle for the Belts II is scheduled to take place on April 15th 2022, which could be the site for the epic Adam Page vs CM Punk AEW Championship. However, with Punk still a ways off Lance Archer’s 9-1 record in AEW in 2022, it might yet be too soon for him to challenge for the AEW Championship.
Therefore, CM Punk vs Adam Page could take place at AEW Double or Nothing 2022. The event will take place in May, and would be a huge stage for such a massive first time match up. It could also be the place Adam Page loses his championship that he won at Full Gear 2021, and would lead to an incredible CM Punk vs Bryan Danielson bout at AEW All Out 2022.
