Jon Moxley vs Wheeler Yuta

Wheeler Yuta got the upper hand over Moxley at the beginning over the match, attacking him before the match by leaping from the ring to the outside.

However, the power and cunning of Moxley soon took over. He beat down Yuta, but the 25 year old star refused to give up. The ROH Pure Champion refused to stay down, even when Moxley curb-stomped Wheeler Yuta onto the steel steps and caused blood to stream down his face for the rest of the match. It was an incredible amount of blood that made Moxley look sadistic and made Yuta look like a hero.

Moxley took knees, chokes and suplex from Moxley, including from the top rope. Despite the incredible pain he was under, Wheeler Yuta gave it right back, including kicking him repeatedly in the head like Bryan Danielson and stealing Jon Moxley’s Bulldog Choke finisher, narrowly missing out on victory.

Jon Moxley helped make Wheeler a star in this match. His brutality and viciousness only proved to highlight the heart and tenacity of Wheeler Yuta, who refused to give up and give in against the former AEW Champion.

Wheeler Yuta even shocked the crowd when he kicked out of not one, but two Paradigm Shifts from Moxley. Only a select few men, including Kenny Omega and Brodie Lee, have been able to take the move from Jon Moxley and continue the match. To see Wheeler Yuta take two in this match made him seem like a top wrestler straight away.

Moxley eventually put down Wheeler with a bulldog choke, as the young star passed out after the pain from two Paradigm Shifts was too much for him. The referee called for the bell as Wheeler’s hand hit the mat, his body soaked in his own blood while Moxley’s eyes remained shocked from the resilience he had seen.
