Jay White has thrown shots at Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, just moments after defeating Kazuchika Okada to become the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
It was his second time winning the historic belt, and he took his time celebrating to fire some shots at the AEW EVP’s and build to a match at Forbidden Door.
After pinning Kazuchika Okada to win his second world title in NJPW, Jay White cut an angry promo during his post match press conference. Rather than celebrate his historic win and five star match at Dominion, the Kiwi superstar went all in on Omega and the Young Bucks, likely setting up a match at Forbidden Door on June 26th 2022.
In the post-match press conference, Jay White said about Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks;
Look at the way you guys look up to a guy like Okada. Hell, let’s throw Kenny in there, nothing personal against Kenny. But if we go back a little history lesson, I took that IWGP United States Championship from him. And then what did he do? He left. This is why I say I am the catalyst of professional wrestling because without me you don’t even get AEW.”
He then went on to accuse Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks of “running away” from NJPW after defeats by White, and how his victories were the catalyst of the creation of AEW and the returns of stars like Bryan Danielson and CM Punk.
“Everything you’ve all come to enjoy and love and cherish over the past few years you don’t have without me because without me beating Kenny Omega, maybe he doesn’t run away. Maybe he doesn’t run away with The Young Bucks and take his success and create All Elite Wrestling.”
He later went on to mention CM Punk’s return to wrestling, Bryan Danielson signing for AEW and the long-awaited triumph of Hangman Adam Page over Kenny Omega at Full Gear 2021.
Jay White seems to be building for a match at Forbidden Door. The IWGP World Heavyweight Champion looks to be building up to a match against Kenny Omega and the Young Buck’s although that is in doubt based on Kenny Omega’s myriad of injuries keeping him out for months.
Jay White could lead his time out for a Bullet Club vs Elite match at Forbidden Door, although AEW and NJPW may want to wait until Omega is fit to get the full benefit of that match.
One man who won’t be facing Jay White at Forbidden Door is former AEW Champion Adam Page. Jay White called him out after Dominion 2022, calling him a “dumb cowboy b*tch” and saying he would never get the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
“Hangman Adam Page, you want Okada? You can have him cause you ain’t getting this, you dumb cowboy b*tch.”
