Updated on:

AEW Double or Nothing 2023 will be AEW’s second PPV Event of 2023. It will also be the fourth event in the Double or Nothing series. The event is scheduled for May 28, 2023 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is set to be one of the biggest events AEW have ever put on, and the wrestlers will be extra motivated following the impressive ticket sales for their All In show later this year.

The first AEW Double or Nothing event took place in 2019. It was the first ever event run by All Elite Wrestling, and was announced on Being the Elite on News Year Day, 2019.

With stars like MJF, Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega all set to appear at the event, this could be one of the best shows the company has ever put on.

In this article, we’ll give our predictions for the matches currently announced for AEW Double or Nothing 2023, and also reveal if CM Punk is going to appear at the event.

AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 Predictions

MJF vs Sammy Guevara vs Darby Allin vs Jungle Boy (AEW Championship)

It was confirmed this week that there will be a “four pillars” four way for the AEW Championship.

MJF is defending the title against Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin and Jungle Boy. With the stipulation in place, he does not even have to be pinned to lose the title, giving him the best chance of dropping the belt so far.

However, our prediction for the AEW Double or Nothing 2023 main event is that MJF will walk out of the show as champion.

He has been sowing dissension between the other three men, drawing the heat away from himself.

In our view, he is going to watch the chaos unfold in the match, then snatch the victory with a quick pin at the death, escaping with the AEW Championship.

Wardlow vs Christian Cage (TNT Championship)

One of the matches looking set for AEW Double or Nothing is the TNT Championship clash between Wardlow and Christian Cage.

It looks as though the ever-changing TNT title picture is moving away from the Wardlow/Samoa Joe/ Will Hobbs triangle, giving a new and shocking challenger a chance at the title.

While the promos up until now have indicated that Luchasaurus will be the next challenger, it was revealed that Wardlow vs Christian Cage is the next TNT Championship match – likely at AEW Double or Nothing 2023.

Wardlow need a big win after the flip-flopping of the belt in recent months, so I expect him to fight off the duo of Christian Cage and Luchasaurus to retain his title in Las Vegas.

Will CM Punk Be At Double or Nothing 2023?

Piecing together the latest reports, we can predict that CM Punk will not appear at AEW Double or Nothing 2023.

CM Punk has been absent from AEW since All Out 2022, where he defeated Jon Moxley for the AEW Championship.

He suffered an injury during that match, plus insulted The Elite and Colt Cabana in the post-show press conference. This was followed by a backstage fight, which saw both Punk and The Elite suspended by the company.

Current reports indicate that CM Punk will return to AEW television on the debut episode of their new Saturday night TV show.

Dubbed “AEW Collision”, this two-hour show will rival AEW Dynamite as the company’s flagship program, and be used to facilitate a new brand split in the company – mimicking the WWE.

The show is current pencilled in for the 17th of June 2023 and will taped in CM Punk’s hometown of Chicago. Just like his debut in August 2021, he is likely the surprise guest on the show, drawing huge numbers as he does.

This will feed into AEW All In 2 in Wembley Stadium, where CM Punk is rumoured to be wrestling Kenny Omega in a huge match.
