Cody Rhodes “Is Working” On Roman Reigns Rematch In WWE

Cody Rhodes has revealed his plans for a rematch against Roman Reigns, stating that’s he working on getting another title shot at the Tribal Chief.

The stars seemed to have aligned for Rhodes, who came so close to defeating Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania.

He was about to hit his third Cross Rhodes on the champion, before Solo Sikoa attacked him out of nowhere, costing him the bout and his chance at the WWE Championship.

He then went on into feuds with Dominik Mysterio and Brock Lesnar, beating both men in some fantastic pay per view matches.

However, Roman Reigns remains the man Rhodes is keeping his eye on, for the time being.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Cody Rhodes was asked about a rematch with Roman Reigns.

He claimed that a rematch with the Tribal Chief was “the biggest obstacle yet”, comparing him to promoting the first All In show, and having to portray Stardust early in his WWE career.

Cody Rhodes then revealed that a rematch with Roman Reigns is his goal in WWE, and what he is working towards in the future.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Cody Rhodes said:

“I know what I want, I know what I’m working to attain. I had other challenges before. People didn’t think I’d survive Stardust, or that a non-WWE show could sell 10,000 tickets.

“There have been plenty of times when people bet against me. Getting back [to Reigns,] this is the biggest obstacle yet.

“That [a rematch with Reigns] is my goal: get back. And that’s what I’m fighting to do.”

Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns II is expected to take place at WrestleMania 40, although many fans cannot stand to watch Reigns any longer as champion.

The event could also be the home of Jimmy Uso vs Jey Uso for the first time, as the twins collide in a huge match that will tear their family apart.

This is, of course, if WWE cannot tempt The Rock out of retirement to face Roman Reigns, something they have been trying to do for the past decade.
