Drew McIntyre Has A “Good Chance” Of Leaving WWE

It appears that Drew McIntyre‘s WWE run is coming to an end, with the former WWE Champion looking for an out from the company.

In the midst of AEW putting on the biggest show in British wrestling history in August, McIntyre seems to have had his head swayed away from the bright lights of the WWE.

Fightful Select previously reported that Drew McIntyre’s contract is set to expire before the end of the year, and he is waiting until closer to the time to renew his deal.

The Scot had nine months left on his contract, and does not currently see the value in signing a new deal at this present time.

McIntyre’s contract will expire in December this year, and there has been talk about him leaving to join AEW, although nothing concrete has been reported about his intention.

That is, until now.

Drew McIntyre reported that there is a “good chance” he will finish his time with WWE later this year.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that McIntyre is “working with the idea there’s a good chance he’s finishing up.”

The former WWE Champion has not wrestled since WrestleMania 39, where he lost to GUNTHER in a match also involving Sheamus.

He was drafted to Raw this Monday Night, although he was recently taken off the advertising for WWE’s next foray into the UK market.

He was previously one of the biggest names scheduled to appear at Money in the Bank in London later this year, as he was in Cardiff’s Clash at the Castle.

However, after his injury issues, he was removed from the advertising, which only fuelled discussion about Drew McIntyre leaving WWE at the end of his contract.
