No Brand Split For The AEW Women, Claims Dave Meltzer

Dave Meltzer has revealed that the AEW brand split will not be in action for the women in the company, due to their lack of star power.

The brand split for AEW is reported to being brought in soon, once CM Punk returns for the launch of the new Saturday evening TV show.

AEW Collision was reported to have split the roster with AEW Dynamite, with the former being headlined by CM Punk, with the latter continued to be helmed by The Elite.

However, it is now reported that the split may not be as hard as first though – and that the women on the AEW roster may not be included at all.

Despite having big stars like Saraya, Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker and Toni Storm, Meltzer claims that the division is lacking the star power to properly commit to a traditional brand split.

He reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “the split will not be hard at all with the women as they don’t believe there is enough star power”.

The updated plan, and this will possibly change a few times, is that there will be less of a hard roster split as previously told to people who do know about it. The thought is that the split will not be hard at all with the women as they don’t believe there is enough star power to do a hard split.”

AEW Collision will debut from Chicago, IL’s United Center. The 17 June show will air from 8-10 PM Eastern, likely on TNT and will be AEW’s first dedicated Saturday evening TV Show.
