Trish Stratus Had Her Last Match, But Has Unfinished Business In WWE

Trish Stratus is one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time and a WWE Hall of Famer.

The Canadian star is a WWE Hall of Famer and a seven time WWE Women’s Champion, which was a record by the time she retired.

She has come out of retirement a number of times, wrestling in various WrestleMania, Summerslam and even an Evolution pay per view match that always got fans to tune in.

However, she came back for a full-time run in 2023 for the first time in nearly two-decades, first teaming with and against Becky Lynch in some of the most iconic women’s matches in WWE history.

It was during this feud where Trish Stratus had her last match in the WWE, although the WWE Hall of Famer claims she has unfinished business in pro wrestling.

Trish Stratus’ Last Match

Trish Stratus’ last match in the WWE was her Steel Cage match at Payback 2023, against her long-time rival Becky Lynch.

This was her fourth singles match against one another, following their victory together (alongside Lita) over Damage Control at WrestleMania 39.

The feud started out really hot, but fans soon grew weary as it stretched on for months and months, with seemingly no end.

The pair were even bumped from Summerslam 2023, which led Triple H to claim that the pair needed to “make lemonade out of lemons”.

“Sometimes, those decisions aren’t going to make everybody happy. Sometimes, people are going to have to take the lemons and make lemonade.

The pair took this as a slight, and decide to put on one of the best matches of either of their careers in what looks to be Trish Stratus last match.

They fought inside a steel cage, and took some hellish bumps to prove that they deserved to be put on any card WWE could muster.

Trish rolled back the years, being the most hated heel in the world as she tried to weasel her way out of the match, attempting to escape the cage by any means necessary.

In the end, Becky Lynch pinned Trish Stratus and won the match, likely sending her into retirement for the second time.

Trish Stratus Still Has Work To Do In WWE

Following her loss in a steel cage match against Becky Lynch at Payback 2023, Trish Stratus has revealed that she is not done yet, and has “work to do” in pro wrestling.

The seven-time WWE Women’s Champion spoke with the New York Post about her last match in WWE and the journey she took to get there, as well as Trish Stratus future as a wrestler in the WWE.

“I didn’t expect to be “sipping lemonade” for six months straight. Me coming here, I’m gonna prove myself when I beat Becky Lynch, arguably the best of this generation.

“I kind of feel like I did that in May. I’m kind of like, if Becky wasn’t so obsessed with me I feel like we could have cut this feud a long time ago and I could have gone on to do other things in this current women’s division, which is so intriguing to me.”

“Not everyone has said, ‘Thank you Trish’ yet, right? So I got some work to do.”

Is Trish Stratus Retired?

Trish Stratus is not retired, and looks set to return to the WWE in the near future for a match against Zoey Stark.

She recruited Starks as her muscle during her feud with Becky Lynch, although the pair attacked each other after the cage match at Payback 2023.

This will likely set up a Trish Stratus vs Zoey Starks match in the future, potentially resulting in Starks retiring Stratus at WrestleMania 40.
