One of NJPW’s wrestlers and the man who recently main evented Wrestle Kingdom could be making his debut on AEW Dynamite tonight.

On Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp “Recklessly speculated” about who he thinks will be the surprise debut tonight on AEW debut. He believes that the man to make his debut against Isiah Kassidy is the former NXT and North American Champion Keith Lee, but that is not the “Forbidden Door” signing that Tony Khan has been teasing.

Sapp confirmed that “talent didn’t know who was coming in, or the ‘forbidden door criteria.’ Talent itself were speculating Keith Lee, which was accelerated by Tuesday afternoon”.

However, multiple sources on Tuesday speculated that “NJPW star “Switchblade” Jay White as a possible surprise, with multiple reporters having heard that he was the potential surprise.”.

Fightful Select could not confirm who the surprise for tonight’s episode will be, as even the AEW talent are not sure who the new AEW signing will.

Personally, I think Keith Lee will debut in AEW, but maybe not tonight. I do think that Jay White will make his debut at another point in the show, but not as the opponent of Isiah Kassidy. Due to the “Forbidden Door” nature of the surprise AEW signing, to me it looks likely that Jay White will be the new AEW signing.

Jay White is a huge star in NJPW, even main eventing last year’s Wrestle Kingdom against Kota Ibushi. Their match was one of the greatest Wrestle Kingdom matches ever and showcased his talents by proving himself as one of the best wrestlers in the world.

White would add immense star power to the AEW roster, and would have a number of dream matches to wrestle in AEW. For me, a battle with Bryan Danielson is number one of the list, but I’d also like to see him challenge Adam Page for the AEW Championship.
