The Elite vs CM Punk & FTR Is All In “Dream Match”

All Elite Wrestling recently announced their biggest show ever is set to take place this year – AEW All In 2, at Wembley Stadium.

Blowing all expectations out of the water, Tony Khan has booked the 90,000 seater Wembley Stadium for AEW’s debut in the United Kingdom.

With British stars like Jamie Hayter, Saraya and PAC, the company’s owner will be hoping to put on the biggest wrestling show in Britain since Summerslam 1992 (at the old Wembley).

However, it will take more than some hometown heroes to fill up the biggest stadium in England.

The return of CM Punk is one thing that can help sell tickets, with a match against The Elite certainly the biggest match the company could put on.

FTR certainly hope that match is happening, as they revealed in a recent interview.

The Elite vs CM Punk & FTR

FTR have recently spoken about CM Punk’s return to AEW, and hope to be able to team with him in a huge match at AEW’s All In 2.

In an interview with Uproxx, FTR spoke about staying with AEW and rejecting the advances of WWE when their contracts expired.

However, the most interesting part of the interview was the discussion regarding All In 2.

The show is set to take place at Wembley Stadium on August 27th, 2023 and will be by far the biggest show AEW have put on so far.

Speaking about the show, Cash Wheeler said;

“Wembley Stadium is huge for AEW,. EW has to be ambitious right now. We’ve done so much as a company over the past three years that everybody said we couldn’t do.

When Tony said we’re going to sell 20,000 (tickets at Arthur Ashe Stadium), that seemed ridiculous to people at the time. Everybody wants to keep moving the goalposts.

Everybody wants to keep saying you can’t do this. I love that we’re going to Wembley because even if it’s not completely to the brim full, 50-, 60-, 70,000, whatever it ends up being, that’s huge for this company.

As a company that’s only a couple years into its existence. You can’t play it safe all the time. The roster right now is so deep, why not go for it?”

The pair were then asked about what matches would be needed to help fill up Wembley Stadium. With 90,000 seats in the stadium, it would take some dream matches to sell-out the legendary stadium.

Well, Dax Harwood has his won idea of the dream matches for All In 2.

With matches like Bryan Danielson vs Zack Sabre Jr, Will Ospreay vs Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi vs Adam Page rumoured to be taking place, The Elite vs CM Punk and FTR could help sell out Wembley Stadium.

Speaking with Uproxx, Dax Harwood claimed that CM Punk and FTR vs The Elite could help sell 50,000 tickets and “take this company to the next level. He also said that it was a “dream match”, which many would agree.

“CM Punk and FTR versus the Elite. That’s gotta be it, right? If you want to sell 50,000 tickets and take this company to the next level, that’s it, that’s me dreaming. That’s the dream match. That six-man tag in Wembley Stadium could help launch AEW to the next level.”

The match between CMFTR and The Elite is a dream one for many fans. However, the explosive action after All Out 2022 has meant that CM Punk may never return to the company.
