Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns faced each other 34 times in WWE in singles, tag team and multi-man matches. Both wrestlers have pulled off victories over the other, although one wrestler has many more wins over the other.
The majority of the pairs matches have been tag team matches, and took place during Roman Reigns’ time as “The Powerhouse” of The Shield.
The two men feuded in 2013 as part of the Shield vs Rhodes storylines. Cody teamed with his brother Goldust to save their jobs, as well as the job of their father, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes and Goldust won the bulk of the contests. They defeated The Shield at Battleground 2013 and then again on Monday Night Raw, winning the WWE Tag Team Championships in the process.
The match at Battleground was the first time Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns, in the pair’s first match together.

They both appeared in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 editions of the match, with the 2015 one being won by Roman Reigns.
Roman Reigns has a losing record against Cody Rhodes over his career. He has beaten The American Nightmare in multi-man matches, such as six man tag team matches, Survivor Series matches and Royal Rumbles.
