Kenny Omega could reject a WWE contract, after the infamous Vince McMahon made his return to the company.
McMahon’s fingerprints were all over Monday Night Raw, after he sold the company to the Endevor Group, but was put back in charge of all facets of the company.
This came just one day after Cody Rhodes lost in the main event of WrestleMania 39, putting a dampener on the biggest show of the year.
Kenny Omega had been rumoured to be signing for WWE once his AEW contract expired this year, but that seems to now be in doubt, according to Dave Meltzer.
On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that Vince McMahon’s return will to have an effect on upcoming free agency choices.
Kenny Omega is used as an example of someone who could be put off by Vince coming back.
With Triple H in charge, many wrestlers saw a new lease of life in WWE. The booking was better and more consistent, with a reported happier backstage environment.
The success of Cody Rhodes also seemed to entice Kenny Omega, giving him hope of being a top star in the company if he signed for WWE this year.
However, with WWE locker room morale at an all-time low due, to McMahon’s return to the head of creative, Kenny Omega could reconsider staying in AEW, rejecting any chance of a WWE contract for the Best Bout Machine.
