Fightful Select have revealed that the AEW Fight Forever Roster size will be limited to 50 wrestlers, much less than the 168 superstars that populate the WWE 2K22 roster. This means that many stars will miss out on the game, including some later signings like Keith Lee, Jeff Hardy and even Adam Cole.

Darby Allin

Darby Allin has been confirmed as part of the AEW Fight Forever roster. He made an appearance in the latest sneak peak trailer for the AEW video game, showcasing his model and selection of signature moves against a unnamed green opponent.

Allin is the first wrestler shown in the new, realistic style, which differs from the previous cartoony, exaggerated models from the initial trailer.

Darby Allin is a former TNT Champion and one of the top stars in AEW. His recognisable face paint makes him stand out in the crowd, and his complete disregard for his own safety has likened him to a young Jeff Hardy. Allin currently teams with WCW Legend Sting, and is set to face CM Punk at All Out on September 5th 2021.

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega was the first man confirmed to be part of the AEW Video Game roster. He was shown in the original video game trailer, facing off with Chris Jericho and then Hikaru Shida. He performed all his signature moves, and appeared in a more exaggerated version of himself.

It is likely Kenny Omega’s model will be changed to keep him in line with the new style as shown by Darby Allin.

Kenny Omega is the current AEW champion and part of the menacing heel faction “The Elite”. He is currently embroiled in rivalries with both Christian Cage and “Hangman” Adam Page over the AEW Championship. Neither men so far have been confirmed for the game

Chris Jericho

WCW, WWE and AEW legend Chris Jericho has also been confirmed. He was the second man shown in the initial trailer, fighting Kenny Omega. This has confirmed his as part of the AEW Video Game Roster for the time being.

With his match at All Out against MJF putting his career on the line, there is a possibility that he will be included only as a non-wrestling role, or even as a Legend rather than active superstar, should he lose that match.

Chris Jericho was the first AEW Champion, and is the leader of the group “The Inner Circle”. So far, none of the Inner Circle members besides from Jericho have been confirmed.

Hikaru Shida

Hikaru Shide is the first woman confirmed as part of the AEW Video Game roster. The Japanese star was shown fighting Kenny Omega in the original trailer, hitting him with her signature Shining Wizard move.

From the trailer, it looks as though intergender wrestling will be a part of the AEW Video Game. This is a feature absent from WWE games for many years. It will be a welcome addition to the AEW Game.

Hikaru Shida is currently the only woman confirmed for the AEW Video Game, although I’m sure many more will be added in the future.

Jungle Boy

On Wednesday 8 September, Jungle Boy was announced as the latest addition to the AEW Video Game Roster. Jungle Boy was revealed on an AEW Games stream, showing him performing his signature moves on Darby Allin.

AEW Games showed in game footage of the man JR calls “Jungle Jack Perry”. It showed close ups of his character model, as well as all of his signature moves annd mannerisms. His entrance, without partner Luchasaurus, was also shown.

Neither Luchasaurus nor Marko Stunt, Jungle Boy’s Jurassic Express partners, have yet to be confirmed for the AEW video game roster.

Owen Hart

Owen Hart AEW

Fans of the King of Harts can finally rejoice! AEW announced they had secured a partnership on the 20th September 2021 with the Owen Hart Foundation. This means AEW will honour the legacy of Owen Hart in a number of ways. These include new Owen Hart merchandise, a Owen Hart Cup tournament, and an appearance on the AEW Video Game Roster.

No footage of the King of Harts has been shown, but his appearance was confirmed by a press release from AEW. It will be Owen Hart’s first appearance in a video game since 2004’s Showdown: Legends of Wrestling. So far there has been no confirmation of any other Hart’s being included in the AEW video game roster. Bret Hart has made an appearance in AEW but is not confirmed. Owen Hart is the first AEW video game legend.

Thunder Rosa

New AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa is the second woman confirmed to be part of the AEW Forever Roster. Fightful Select reported that Thunder Rosa is in the game and has already been shown her prototype model.

She is one of the top stars in AEW and was a lock to be included on the game. Her matches with Britt Baker have been some of the greatest in AEW history and she is one of just five women to hold the coveted AEW Women’s Championship.
